How does my Scalapay PIN work?

🔢 Setting up your Scalapay Account PIN

Your Scalapay Account PIN is a 4-digit code that’s separate from your phone’s own PIN or biometrics. It’s used as a fallback when biometrics aren’t available, and is always required on new or unrecognised devices. Keep it private!

  • Choose 4 digits that are easy for you to remember

  • Avoid easy-to-guess combinations like repeated digits (1111) or sequences (1234)

  • Never share your PIN with anyone — not even Scalapay. Any request for your PIN is most likely a fraud attempt 🚨

🔄 Forgot or want to reset your PIN?

No problem! Here’s how:

  • Click Forgot PIN? on the PIN entry screen

  • You’ll receive a one-time code via email to verify it’s you

  • Follow the steps to set a new PIN

You can also reset your PIN at any time from:

  • App: Profile → Settings → Reset account PIN

  • Website: Account section → Reset PIN

🚫 Account temporarily locked?

For your security, too many wrong PIN attempts will lock your account:

  • After 4 failed attempts → account locked for 5 minutes

  • Another 4 failed attempts → account locked for 24 hours

  • Any further sets of 4 failed attempts will result in a new 24-hour lock each time

Once the lock expires, you can try again — or reset your PIN right away to regain immediate access.

💡 Tip: if you’re unsure of your PIN, use Forgot PIN? instead of guessing — it’s faster and avoids locking your account.
