Every order is automatically checked by our system at the time of purchase.
The review is based on several factors (but not on the balance available on your card):
the website or store you are shopping from
the type of card used
the total amount of the order
your Scalapay usage history
For security reasons, we can't provide a specific explanation as to why your order was declined.
But here are some useful tips for you đ
đĄ What to do if your order is declined
Check with your bank đ§Ÿ
âSometimes the transaction is blocked by your bank â we recommend getting in touch with them.Try a different card đł
âIf you have another card available, try to place the order again using it.Do you have any overdue installments? â°
âIf you have unpaid installments on your Scalapay account, you wonât be able to place new orders. Please pay off your pending installments first.
đ Have you tried everything but your order is still declined?
In this case, you wonât be able to use Scalapay for now. We suggest trying again later.
đ¶ Iâm exceeding my spending limit: what can I do?
Each purchase is assessed in real time by our system, which considers several factors â not just the available balance on your card.
If this is your first time using Scalapay
You might have a lower limit at first. This limit can increase over time if you use Scalapay regularly and pay on time. In the meantime, you can try:
using a credit card (your data is always safe)
reducing the total order amount
If youâve already used Scalapay before
You can try:
paying one or more pending installments
placing an order with a lower total amount
Still declined?
Unfortunately, even after trying everything, we canât guarantee the order will be approved.
If it still doesnât work, please try again in the future.
đł Why is my first installment higher than the others?
Sometimes the first installment is higher because your spending limit doesnât cover the full amount of the order.
The total doesnât change â you just pay a bit more upfront, and the remaining installments will be lower.
Example đĄ
Order of âŹ120, available limit âŹ90
â You pay âŹ30 extra + the first installment, then the next two will be smaller.
âïž Can I request equal installments?
No, installment amounts canât be modified. If youâre offered this option, it means youâre still being given the chance to complete the purchase even if your limit is low.
đ Donât worry: if your current spending power is lower than youâd like, it will increase as you keep using Scalapay and paying on time.
