How Much Can I Spend with Scalapay?

Updated today

1. What is Purchasing Power? 🤔

Purchasing Power is an estimate of the amount you can spend using Scalapay.

It is calculated automatically and in real-time based on several factors, including the store from which you are shopping, your payment method, and the total order amount.

For security reasons, only you can view your Purchasing Power directly in the app.

Please remember that the amount displayed is only indicative:

  • it does not guarantee that an order will be approved,

  • it is not a pre-approved loan or credit limit,

  • it does not depend on your card balance.

We can also confirm that we do not use external sources to determine your income or financial situation.

For privacy and security reasons, our customer support team does not have access to your Purchasing Power details.

2. Why can an order be declined even if it’s below my limit?

Because Purchasing Power is only an estimate.

Sometimes our systems may not approve an order even if the cart amount is lower than your displayed Purchasing Power — and in other cases, an order with a higher amount may be approved.

This happens because Purchasing Power is updated and recalculated automatically and in real time during checkout, based on several factors:

  • the website or store where you are shopping

  • the type of card you are using

  • how frequently you use Scalapay

  • your payment history and punctuality

If you are a new customer, your Purchasing Power may initially be lower — but don’t worry, it will increase as you use Scalapay regularly and pay on time. ⬆️

3. How can I increase it?

  • Pay on time, every time ⏰

  • Use Scalapay regularly 🛍️

  • Enable notifications 🔔

  • Use a non-prepaid credit card, which is usually more easily accepted 💳

  • Ensure your card has sufficient funds ✔️

  • Pay your installments punctually — improvements after late payments may take several months ⏳

4. Why has it decreased?

Your Purchasing Power may decrease if:

  • you have paid late ⛔

  • a payment has failed ❌

  • you haven’t used Scalapay for a while 💤

We periodically review our internal criteria to ensure safe and responsible usage. 🛡️

5. How can I use Scalapay responsibly? 💡

  • Only purchase what you can safely repay 👍

  • Check your upcoming payments regularly in the app 📱
