Returns and refunds are handled directly and exclusively by the merchant, not by Scalapay.
This means that Scalapay cannot refund an order without prior authorization from the store.

❌ All future installments are cancelled, so you won’t need to pay them.
PARTIAL REFUND
🚨 With Scalapay, refunds are applied starting from unpaid installments.
When a refund is partial, here’s what happens:
Unpaid installments → Reduced or cancelled starting from the last scheduled installment. No refund is credited to your card for these, since the amount is simply updated.
Paid installments → If the refund applies, you’ll receive the credit back to your card in proportion to the refunded amount.
🔍 Example of partial refund without credit back to card (cancellation of future installments):
You bought a product for €30 in 3 installments and only paid the first €10 installment.
Merchant refunds you €15
Installment #3 (€10, unpaid) → cancelled
Installment #2 (€10, unpaid) → reduced by €5 (new total €5)
Installment #1 (€10, paid) → unchanged
Total after refund = €15.
Since you’ve already paid €10, you only need to pay €5. No refund is made to your card.
🔍 Example of partial refund with credit back to card:
You bought a product for €30 and already paid 2 installments of €10 each (total €20).
Merchant refunds you €15
Installment #3 (€10, unpaid) → cancelled
Installment #2 (€10, paid) → reduced from €10 to €5 → you receive a €5 refund on your card
Installment #1 (€10, paid) → unchanged
Total after refund = €15.
Since you’ve already paid €20, you get €5 refunded on your card.
🧾 In summary:
You only pay for what you actually keep.
The refund you receive reflects the effective amount due after the partial refund, not the entire amount already paid.
